The artist Count Crow has breathed life into deathly boring Halloween music with the new album Halloween Spooktacular. It’s the Halloween soundtrack that creates a party mood for everything from monster mashing to trick or treating.

But what does Halloween have to do with cancer? Both can be scary for kids! The Count is proud to sponsor The Children’s Hospital Foundation with his smile-inducing music. The Children’s Hospital Foundation provides research, lifesaving care and financial assistance for kids battling cancer and childhood diseases.

For the month of October 10% of proceeds will go to The Children’s Hospital Foundation. The more albums or downloads are sold, the more we can give to this great cause.

Denver based singer/songwriter Matt Crowe, a confessed Halloween junkie, was frustrated by the lack of fun in Halloween music. “There were no great Halloween albums, just a bunch of less than stellar individual tunes, old 50’s surfer music, Elvira stuff, and the gore and harsh vibe of Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson,” he says. After writing the first track for the album, the swinging, hip-hop flavored “Shout The Boo,” his ghoulish fans screamed for more. Music World Radio.

Last September, he vowed to make Halloween music for the next year. He teamed up with Trevor Huster to produce Count Crow’s Halloween Spooktacular. “I would love for this album to someday become a core part of the experience, something families can enjoy year after year as a Halloween tradition,” he said.

The 13 track collection was released October 5, 2010 on the indie label Honur Records. It’s a stylistically diverse romp through numerous eras of popular music: 1940s a capella, classic pop, disco, 70s hard rock, hip-hop, rap and reggae.

Charity Details

The Children’s Hospital Foundation has three purposes:

Educating and engaging the community on the hospital’s behalf
Fundraising for the hospital
Investing funds raised on behalf of the hospital

The foundation staff believes deeply that all children should have the opportunity for a bright and healthy future. Comprised of more than 50 fundraising professionals, the foundation is committed to engaging with the community to facilitate philanthropic support for the children and families served at The Children’s Hospital.

Support for the hospital can be seen in a variety of ways as community leaders contribute to our mission by giving outright gifts, gifts in kind, volunteering their time and energy at a wide variety of fundraising events, corporate partnerships, gifts honoring loved ones, planned giving, and foundation grants.
